Basic Drupal SEO
The reason why I love to use Drupal is because its internal architectural structure makes the whole process of web site optimization much easier to manage. Out of the box, it is adequate for SEO, but with a few added modules configured correctly, it is extremely powerful.
A major factor for successful SEO is figuring out how to create your website in order to give the search engines what they want while providing quality content and ease of navigation for your visitors.
It’s not just about stuffing your pages with a high concentration of keywords or having thousands of links pointing to the home page of your site. When you take the time to plan your site and are careful of the way it is structured, you will be able to achieve rankings with less effort.
The following are some basic changes to Drupal's default setting that can make a big difference in your sites overall performance. Ultimately the power is in the details.
If you are new to Drupal and have never installed or configured a website before with it, I recommend reading Silos on Drupal by Jasper Kooij. I covers the entire installation process along with additional configurations for your site.
